Midweek ride to Northolt

Wednesday 15th March. A mostly dull overcast day, saw 19 Cyclists leave via Kingston Station, -collecting 1 more-, Kingston gate Richmond Park, Sheen gate, Mortlake, Chiswick Bridge, Kew, Brentford, Clayponds, South Ealing, West Ealing, Hanwell, Greenford, to Northolt for lunch at the recently repainted Crown (Sizzling Pubs), with a cold Headwind, via Northala fields (Photo), Southall, Norwood Green, Osterley Park, Osterley, Isleworth, St Margarets (a slight shortcut, as now very cold), to Marble hill Park for Tea & refreshments, Twickenham Riverside,- very light Drizzle now added to the mix-, Strawberry hill, Teddington, Hampton Wick, Kingston Bridge to finish back in the Market place. 30 Miles, 1 new face, thanks to John for back marking, thhanks to many corner markers, especially Mags & Celia. Thanks to Pete for being on standby to lead a second group.

Bread pudding ride to Northolt

Sunday 13th December, to bring a very odd year to a close, a semi-Picnic ride. After 5 cancellations & 1 no show, a Chilly day, with drizzly Showers saw 18 Cyclists split into 4 groups, leave 5 mins apart via Kingston Bridge, Bushy Park, Fulwell, Twickenham, River Crane path, Whitton, Hounslow Heath, West Hounslow, Cranford, Sipson, West Drayton, Hillingdon, Hayes, Northolt to Northala Fields for Tea & Bread pudding

(Photo group 2), with leader of group 4 suffering a visit from the ‘P fairy’, a few also having a picnic lunch, then Southall, Brent Valley Park, Hanwell, West Ealing, Ealing, Acton, Chiswick green (Photo group 1),

Grove Park, group 1 having a visit from the ‘P Fairy’, seeing group 2 & 3 by-pass, & even group 4 before the group got back on the Road, Chiswick Bridge, Mortlake, Sheen gate Richmond Park, White Lodge, Ham gate, North Kingston to finish in the Market place. Total 35 Miles, 2 visits from the ‘P Fairy’. Special thanks to Bai, Mike & Carl for group leading, thanks to Ellie, Steve F, John E & Nigel for back marking each group, thanks to John D for the BP.

Sunday 7th July, A mostly Cloudy morning, with very light Drizzle, followed by a Sunny afternoon, saw 15 Cyclists leave via Kings Rd, Kingston gate Richmond Park, Ham cross, White lodge, Sheen gate, Sheen, Mortlake, Chiswick Bridge, Strand on the green, Brentford, South Ealing, West Ealing, Hanwell, Greenford, Grand union Canal towpath, -with a Duck unwilling to give way, or take flight, slowing progress a little 🙂,- to Northolt for lunch at ‘the Crown’, then Northala fields, (Photo), Greenford, Southall, Norwood Green, Osterley Park, Isleworth, St Margerets, to Marble Hill Park for Tea & BP, Twickenham, Strawberry hill, Teddington, Hampton Wick & Kingston Bridge. Total 30 Miles, Thanks to Steve D for back marking, & many others for marking corners, thanks to John D for the Bread pudding.

Wednesday 7th November, a mixed day with Slight Showers intermingled with Sunny spells, & Stiff breeze, saw 8 Cyclists leave via Kingston Bridge, Bushy Park, Fulwell, River Crane path, Whitton, Hounslow, Osterley, Osterley Park, Norwood green, Southall, Northala Fields, to Northolt for lunch at the very reasonable ‘Crown’, -with a very heavy Shower hitting over lunch, ;-)-,then joining the Grand union Canal towpath (Paddington branch), to North Greenford, Greenford, Hanwell- pausing briefly to admire the ‘Wharncliffe Viaduct’-, more GU Canal towpath, Brentford, to Syon Park for Tea at the Garden centre, Isleworth, Twickenham, Strawberry hill, Teddington, Hampton Wick & Kingston Bridge. Total 29 Miles, thanks to Steve D for back marking.
