Sunday 11 October 2015, RiddlesdownSunday 11th October. a cool Sunny day saw 20 Cyclists gather at the alternative meeting point, Fountain New Malden, go via Motspur park, Bushey Mead, Merton park, Morden hall park, Mitcham, Thornton heath, Selhurst, South Norwood, Monks orchard, Shirley, Addington village, Featherbed lane to Fickleshole for lunch at ‘the White Bear’, then joined by 1 extra Cyclist and with a small ‘breakaway group’ safely Shepherded to Chelsham by John W, Warlingham, Mitchley wood, Riddlesdown common, Purley, South Croydon, Wallington to Beddington park for Tea & BP, then Hackbridge, the Wrythe, Sutton, Pyl brook path, Joseph Hood memorial park, Motspur park to New Malden. Total 36 Miles, 5 new faces.

A bright Sunny day saw 19 Cyclists leave via Lower Marsh, Berrylands, New Malden, Malden golf course, Copse hill, Wimbledon common, Putney heath, Roehampton to Barnes for lunch at the ‘Red Lion’, then Barnes green, Roehampton gate of Richmond park, Ham cross, Ham gate and North Kingston. Sub total 16 Miles, 3 new faces. Part 2 , farewell to 10, welcome to 6 fresh faces, left via Lower Marsh, Berrylands, Tolworth, the ‘Greenway’, Bonesgate path, Horton country park, Clarendon park, St. Ebba’s path, Hogsmill path, Ewell village, East Ewell to Nonsuch park for Tea & BP, then Stoneleigh, Worcester park, New Malden, Berrylands to Kingston. Sub total 16 Miles, 2 new faces, 1 Puncture. Overall 32 Miles.

A mostly cloudy morning, with a brighter afternoon, saw 18 Cyclists gather for an early start, leave via Portsmouth Rd, Giggs hill green, Weston green,  Esher, Walton on Thames, Oatlands, Weybridge, Brooklands park, Byfleet village, Wey navigation, Pyrford, Woking, Goldsworth park to Knaphill, for lunch at ‘the Royal oak’. Afterwards, leaving via the ‘secret gate’, to Waterers park, Castle green, Chobham, Stonehill, Homeland park, Addlestone, Victory park, Wey navigation towpath, Thames towpath to Walton bridge for Tea & BP at ‘Gino’s’, (with the ‘white elephant’ of a new Cafe/toilet block, still vacant), Walton on Thames, Molesey, Thames Ditton, & Portsmouth Rd to Kingston. Total 40 Miles, 1 new face.

Sunday 23rd August. A dry start, with a heavy shower of rain during lunch, saw 15 Cyclists leave via  Kingston bridge, Bushy park, Fulwell, River Crane path, Whitton, Hounslow heath, West Hounslow,  Cranford, Harlington, Sipson to Harmondsworth for lunch at ‘the five bells’, after lunch with some light drizzle still in the air, the option to visit the ‘Cathedral of Middlesex’, or the Harmondsworth great barn, as it is more properly known, before finding the rain had ceased, and even some bright Sun, then Harmondsworth moor, Poyle, Stanwell moor, Stanwell, Bedfont, Feltham, Hanworth, Hampton, Bushy park to ‘the Pheasantry for Tea & BP, then to Church grove & Kingston bridge. Total 29 Miles 2 new faces.

Sunday 9th August. A hot Sunny day saw 19 Cyclists gather at Tolworth Station for the Summer special Challenge ride leave via, the ‘Bonesgate’ path, Horton country park (where a small twig almost terminated the leaders ride, thankfully just the front mudguard payed the price), Ashtead common, Leatherhead, Fetcham, Great Bookham, Effingham, White down, Abinger, Holmbury St. Mary, Forest green to Walliswood for a splendid lunch at ‘the Scarlett arms’. Then via Okewood hill, Tipham, Ockley, Capel, Newdigate, Shellwood cross to Brockham Church for Tea & BP, then Betchworth park, Pixham, Westhumble, Juniper hill, Headley, Langley vale, Woodcote, Epsom common, West Ewell to Tolworth.     Total 50 Miles, 5 new faces, 38 very tired legs.

Sunday 26th July. A mostly dull wet day, saw 11 Cyclists, (with 4 other non straters) gather at Woking, with the heavy rain stopping before we got to the Basingstoke canal towpath, then St. Johns, Knaphill, Bisley, Donkey town, Lightwater, Windlesham, to Chobham common for lunch at the ‘Four Horseshoes’, then via Gracious pond, Homewood park, Addlestone, Weybridge, Oatlands park, Ashley park, Walton on Thames, Thames towpath, Sunbury lock to say hello to Tony, (assistant lock-keeper ), Molesey where a jammed derailier almost finished our leaders ride, thankfully a bit of judicious twisting allowed us to continue to Molesey Cricket club for Tea & BP, then Hampton court bridge, more towpath to Kingston bridge & the Market place. Total 31 Miles, 2 new faces.

A mostly cloudy day with light drizzle in the Morning, saw 19 Cyclists leave via Portsmouth Rd, Long Ditton, Claygate, Stokesheath Rd, Oxshott, Stoke D’Abernon, Downside, Ockham, Groveheath to Send Marsh for lunch at ‘the Saddlers arms, also bumping into a small contingent of CTC ‘Sou’westers’. Afterwards via Pyrford, West Byfleet, Basingstoke Canal & Wey Navigation towpath to Weybridge, Thames towpath to Walton bridge for Tea & BP at ‘Gino’s’, then Ashley park, Walton park, Esher, Weston green, Giggs hill green, Portsmouth Rd to Kingston. Total 34 Miles, 1 Puncture.

Part 1, A mostly bright day saw 19 Cyclists leave via Portsmouth Rd, Long Ditton, Hinchley wood, Claygate, Malden rushett, Horton park, Long grove park, West Ewell, Hogsmill path, Tolworth, Malden manor to New Malden for lunch at ‘Woodies’, then via Berrylands and lower marsh to Kingston. Sub total 16 Miles, 3 new faces. Part 2, farewell to 9, hello to 3 fresh faces so 13 Cyclists left via Canbury Gardens, towpath to Ham, Aerospace estate, Ham House, Towpath to Richmond, O’Higgins Square, Richmond bridge, towpath to Marble hill house for Tea & BP, then St. Margerets, Twickenham, Kneller Gardens, Crane river path, Fulwell, Hampton, Bushy park, where a wayward Child Cyclist, (not with us), almost caused a calamitous incident with 2 of our group suffering some minor bruises, Hampton wick, Kingston Bridge. Sub total 14 Miles, Total 30 Miles.

A bright and sunny day saw 28 Cyclists leave via Skerne Rd, Kingston gate of Richmond park to Sheen, Mortlake, Chiswick bridge, Chiswick, (where a piece of miscommunication led to a small detachment taking a different approach via Kew, Brentford, South Ealing, West Ealing, Perivale, (thanks Nick for rescuing the breakaway)) with the main party continuing Acton, Park Royal, then the Grand union canal towpath, across the Aqueduct, to Greenford for lunch at ‘the Black horse’. Afterwards, more Towpath to Southall, Norwood green to Osterley park for Tea & BP, then Osterley, Hounslow, Whitton, Twickenham, Fulwell, Bushy park, to Hampton wick & Kingston bridge. Total 30 Miles, 5 new faces.
